Oh Zuri!

Sunset in Paradise

Its God’s Own Country!

It definitely feels that God gave Kerela all the attention while creating the planet. A narrow state but it has everything – the sea, rivers, lagoons, plains, mountains and lots of coconuts. Not to miss that Vasco da Gama landed in Kerela as well, though at that point the state didn’t exist!

It was getting tiring moving towns every second day and I was glad that this opportunity to visit The Zuri Resort came up. My friends had booked themselves into a lagoon  facing cottage and since the resort was only 16km from Kottayam, I decided to drop in for a beer. Only once I reached there, I realized that were not  in there designated room but had been upgraded to the private pool villa, which overlooks the Lake Vembanad. To sum it up, it was heaven!

In no time, we were in the pool with our beers. The pool looks out to the lake and next couple of hours that what we did. Sip the beer and look out. There was not a single human in sight, just a few houseboats passing by, birds chirping and the sound of water. The room was nice too, but I didn’t care much. So stop by and try the hotel- the staff is pleasant, the business center is free and restaurant is good too! All that, if you can pull yourself out of the water!
